Polypropylene honey comb
Hexagonal celled aluminium
core has been used for many years in high tech fighter
jets and space craft.
Too expensive for industry
or private use, it remained an elusive design for
use in general manufacturing.
Polypropylene from the Polycore
factory has overcome practically all obsticales associated
with plastic honeycomb
and the latest test results show that it can match
it with the strongest of the foam cores at a fraction
of the price.
Not all propylene hexagons
are the same and Polycore Australia is the only one
known to match the independent engineers' test figures.
The product is made with the
plastic cell covered with a very thin film with pin
holes for some of the resin to penetrate.
This in turn is covered with
a skim surface to form a base for the laminate, which
can be alloy, paint, glass, canvas, timber, or what
ever.
